Sammy

I’m Sammy, I joined Adrian and co. in 2022. My time before that is a little hazy but I think I was about 6 at the time. I was rehomed when my previous carer was hospitalised and it’s fair to say that I was not in great shape; I had very little muscle mass on my right hand side and lolloped badly when trying to walk. My first forays into the great outdoors were quite stressful as I had very little experience of hills, mountains, streams, rough ground or very much at all as everything felt very unfamiliar and my legs would give way without warning.

Gradually Adrian got me walking then running further and higher and I have accompanied him on lots of walking, running and climbing adventures in the North East, Lakes, Scotland and Wales; he’s dragged me round the Kentmere, Langdale, Coledale and Fairfield Horseshoes to name a few.

I’m still learning the ropes of being a crag dog and struggle a bit with people and dogs arriving or leaving when I can be quite barky (sorry!); I’m not really sheep-safe and definitely not snack-safe but I am slowly learning what is acceptable behaviour.

I accompany Adrian on almost all of his outdoor adventures and hope you are happy for me to come along but I completely understand if dogs really aren’t your thing.

Thanks, Sammy
